Chop an Onion
You’ve done this a hundred times by now. You’ve seen it done by every cooking show you’ve ever watched. But just in case you wanted to know…
Also, if you want to remove that raw onion bite for a ceviche or dish that calls for uncooked onions, a few minutes in a bowl of cold water while soften the pungency.
Slice off your ends. Split it down the middle. Try to make it as even split as possible.
Slice across the onion, stopping just short of cutting all the way through.
Now make downward slices a few centemeters apart.
Now just chop away, and you’re onion is ready.
Toss it in a bowl of cold water to take the bite out if it’s not being cooked.
