Pit an Avocado

Certainly no rocket science here. Just one of those beautifully simple techniques that makes sense.. if someone tells you how to do it. It’s not worth telling you how I used to try and get the avocado flesh out. It was not pretty.

Cut length wise, smooth and easy all the way around.

Twist like an Oreo and it should split in half easily.

Using your knife, CAREFULLY whack the nut with the sharp side so that you can use the leverage to twist the nut out and lift it clean out of the avocado flesh.


Use your knife to slice (or dice) each half of the avocado while still in the skin.

Use spoon to scoop out sliced flesh.
